On 2 separate days at the end of April, the Netherlands Labour Authority identified 10 violations of the Foreign Nationals (Employment) Act at various companies in the municipalities of Waterland and Zaanstad.

Meat trading company in Waterland

6 violations were identified during an inspection at a meat trading company in the municipality of Waterland. The company processes and packages meat for sale. 5 individuals were working using another person's identity document. 1 worker was also found to be using false documents. All were arrested by the police and transferred to the Aliens Police, Identification and Human Trafficking Department.

Car repair garages in Zaanstad

At various car repair garages in the municipality of Zaanstad, 2 individuals were found to be working without a work permit while 2 others were found to be residing illegally in the Netherlands. The Netherlands Labour Authority is further investigating all cases.

Netherlands Labour Authority inspectors also found 3 individuals who were receiving benefits in addition to working. Their work had not been reported to the benefits agency, which is now investigating the matter.
