Irene Gerrits is Director of Reports and Requests, Deputy Inspector-General (and acting Deputy Secretary-General of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Employment). The Reports and Requests Department is responsible for the organisation, implementation and management of all reports and requests concerning unhealthy, unsafe and unfair working conditions. Reports are assessed on a risk basis and forwarded for appropriate action. Irene has worked at the Netherlands Labour Authority since 2019, initially as Director of People and Resources.

Irene Gerrits's previous roles include Director of the National Archives, an agency of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science. She has also held various management posts at a number of cultural institutions.

Irene Gerrits studied art history and museology at Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.
